You know what I am talking about. That late night bet that you make when you are up OR down (lol) on some sport or event you do not know anything about. The reason I bring this up is because around midnight or so I was adding up my WNBA for the week (yes, I said WNBA) and realized how well the week ended with Seattle covering last night. I went into full junkie mode and clicked to see if anything was available to bet... Read more

Granted, I just knocked on a bunch of wood, but leading the series up 2-0, how is this not almost like stealing: Ticket # 41717767 Placed: ONLINE-1 on: 06/10/2008 @ 02:19 PM STRAIGHT BET Risking: 2100.00 To Win: 1500.00 06/17/2008 @ 06:05 PM [596] CELTICS SERIES -140 - NBA *Played at Bookmaker After the Celtics went up 2-0 I saw this stat when reading thru various sporting articles... With the clock ticking and football around the corner, why not bust open the notebooks and start talking some pigskin. What theories or guidelines do you attempt to follow every season betting football? Even though I feel the do's and don't could be endless, here are a couple of mine: Due to Win will make you Due to Go Broke: The Due to Win theory has sent more people to the poor house than the 1929 Stock Market Crash... Topics: NFL Handicapping CFB

Even though I believe various sharps will debate this topic, I am one who is under the belief that when comparing sides and totals, that totals are more profitable long term than sides. The most obvious reason would be the fact that since more people bet sides, the lines themselves are inherently more accurate. Reviewing close to two years of data on the NBA and CBB you see that the side lands close to the number in some... Read more

What JD! Are you crazy? Big Brown is a "mortal lock" to capture the Triple Crown and take home the Belmont Stakes. Well, you are probably right. Personally, it is difficult not to just concede the Triple Crown right now and hand over history to Mr. Big Brown. The problem is that I am one who tends to look at handicapping with a contrarian view. There is a reason that bookmakers tend to drive nicer cars than their clients... Read more

The line right now for game seven is the Celtics minus a whopping 14.5. So here is the task for today: I do not want any "no way" or "will be a blowout" talk. Say you were hired to present a case on why the Hawks have a shot to win game 7 outright. So essentially a debate on the two sides and the coin flip gave you the 14.5 point underdog Atlanta Hawks. The best case will get a $100 from me via Pay Pal. $200 if the Hawks... Read more

Yesterday was nice as the Grizzlies game hit right in the middle of the line move for a nice cash. So far on Saturday, there is already some decent movement on the board off the openers: #503/504 Sixers/Wizards: Total opened at 199.5 and is down to 196.0 #507/508 TWolves/Grizzlies: Total opened at 216.0 and is down to 213.5 #511/512 Jazz/Nuggets: Jazz opened as a 7.0 point fav, dropped to 6.0 and is now in the middle... Going to try and stay on top of the movers and shakers for Friday and share with the board so they can see how games will move up and down multiple points in one move. It is not uncommon in the NBA to see a total move 3 points in one move. I monitor three real time lines feeds and can beat almost any book (besides the one making it of course) to a move. Not tons of movement in the NBA so far today, so looking forward... Read more

After a two year run by the underdogs, the favorites rebounded in 2007 with a 21-10-1 ATS mark last season in the first round. This year is no different, as after day 1, the favorites roll again, going 13-3. Will the trend continue in day 2 of round one? We will see...... Read more
