First off, I am not referring to the horrible weekend I had with my selections or the fact I am under 50% in college football (still doing well in pro ball though). What I am ranting about is football overall this season for both the NFL and College. As I write this, this season has been going by very quicky in my opinon due to being one of the weakest starts to football in recent memory. Why? Well, let me count the ways... Read more

You seem to always see the debates about Lebron vs Kobe, 80's vs 90's or Brady vs Manning. These arguments take the best of the best and end up in a pretty good discussion. For today's topic, how about we look at the worst of the best. You know, those athletes that go down in history as a "great" but maybe do not deserve that tag. I will start it off with two of mine: Mike Tyson: Sure he was exciting to watch as he destroyed... Read more

This is the schedule for Detroit sport's fans tonight: 7:05 Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota Twins (going to the game) 8:00 Detroit Red Wings vs Pittsburgh Penguins (game #1 of Stanley Cup) 8:30 Detroit Pistons vs Boston Celtics (game #3 of the Eastern Conference Finals) The dilemma I am having is do I go see the 2nd worst team (record wise) in baseball or hit a sports bar and watch the Wings and Pistons? I have been to tons... Read more

Just kidding. I was bored the other day and went through a schedule book from last season and was amazed at all the locks, blowouts and inside information games that I discovered. First I laughed to myself that they were making these outrageous claims in a schedule book that is produced a months in advance. Than I realized how it was not funny that there are people out there who fall for this nonsense. What nonsense am... Read more

There is not a baseball fan and/or expert in the WORLD who at this point in the season would have believed the Tigers would only be behind the San Diego Padres as the worst team in baseball (record wise). Being a long time Tiger's fan who had season tickets the year they were the worst of all time, I was beyond excited about this upcoming season. Going down to one of the nicest parks in the country to watch some winning... Read more

You either love it or hate it. For example, EVERYTIME I come to Las Vegas RJ tries getting me to watch a TIVOed episode to convert me to the Seinfeld side. The end result trip after trip is the same, the show is still not funny. Sorry Seinfeld fans, there is nothing funny about this TV Show. I would rather watch the same Family Guy episode 1000 times than what people would consider the funniest Seinfeld episode once.... Read more

Listening to all the Kobe vs. Lebron talk got me thinking back to the 80's when the NBA still had some class and people actually did something called a jump shot. Granted, I was a child of the 80's being born in the mid 70's, but if you look at the rundown, it is hard not to say cats like Jordan, Bird and Magic would not school the glorified gang bangers of today. Tit for tat, best of best, what era was the best and why... Read more

With this the final season of Yankee's Stadium we decided to take a road trip to see the last Tigers/Yankees regular season series in the old ballpark. Besides seeing the first Tiger's sweep in Yankee Stadium since 1966 we had a blast in an amazing city. Highlights: Lombardi's Pizza. Man oh man. With most of the bigger pizza franchises being from Michigan (Little Skeezers, Hungry Homies and Dominhoes), tasting the pie... Read more

Taking a much needed vacation next week. Myself and three old school buddies are hopping in the Caddy and driving to New York City to see the Tigers/Yankees play on Tuesday. Personally, I have been from Las Vegas to Rome, but NEVER New York. Have some plans to meet people for a drink and dinner, but outside of that, the agenda is wide open. Only going to be there for a few days, so any suggestions on a "must do", or in... Read more

I mean "bad beat/back door" cover as in "DOH" and not as in "$$$". Poker stories need not apply as I hear enough of this drival at the casino and the home games I play in. I can only take so many "one outer" and "can you believe he called me" tirades. For mine, you have to go back to 2001. It was one of those infamous "late night" Pac-10 games EVERY true junkie bets the motherload on to either have a monster day or on... Read more
