Topic of the Day: Thoughts on Boomer Esiason’s Tim Tebow Rant?

Heard this live at 615am as I always listen/watch Boomer and Carton in the mornings. Had no idea that it would blow up as much as it has over the past few hours

I'm a lifelong Cincinnatian and have respected Boomer's candidness since his days as QB for the Bengals.

I wholeheartedly agree with his assertion pertaining to Tebow.Although Tebow doesn't bring negative baggage,it's a sideshow around a guy who simply isn't good compared to top notch QB's in the view of many people and based upon Tebow's yet to be seen consistent production.

Even Probowlers who join a different team can often be a subtraction thru addition.

Pregame Pro 'Spartan' posted last week similar sentiments like Boomer's.

this topic sort of irritates me because people have short memorys. just last year everyone critizised sancez saying that he became to comofrtable at the position because he had no real risk at losing his job w 40 year old mark brunell at the backup pos. even anonomis teamates called him out on it. now they bring somone in who can legitly threaten him and people are saying all this controversy isnt good. why mess with sanchez. no doubt tebow brings some unwanted attention. but trading draft picks for a guy and cutting him before even seeing him in game action is not somthing a succesful franchise would do.

JD- there is no such things as flukes, just random fluctuations of probability!  The man has been doing the same thing since high school(winning) and still he has doubters?  Last I checked, football was a team sport and a person like Tebow elevates everyone to work harder.  I think people hate on him because he makes us feel like immoral slobs.  

Winning at the High School level and at a powerhouse like the U.of Florida is a far cry from being considered a winner in the NFL.

Last season notwithstanding,time will tell whether Tebow will be credited as a successful QB in the NFL.

As for Tebow elevating his teammates' work ethic,I'm not sold on that as a fact yet.If I'm a paid PRO in the NFL,I'm certainly not going to need a young unproven QB to be a catalyst for my focus and commitment.

Pertaining to Tebow's morality is something I can't speak to;but,I don't think that other players who have been free from behavioral controversy are afforded the same positive attention that Tebow has garnered thus far.  And I personally don't feel inadequate,morally speaking !

I think Tebow was screwed as soon as he was traded to NY.  That franchise thrives on dysfuntion and controversy while answering to brutal media.  As far as Boomer's comments, we all have an opinion, but he forgot that's why the attention seeking Jets traded for him.

Tebow wouldn’t bite when asked about Esiason’s comments after practice Monday.

“I’ve heard nothing but great things about Mr. Esiason,” he said. “I know he was a great player here and I wish him nothing but the best in his announcing. God bless him.”

Tebow did not ask for all the attention...blame the media....he is not a camera whore

how he is more "distracting" than that ill-mannered whale blubber of a coach?
