Very surprised on this reply from a paid pro. No one pays for losers. But they do happen. Part of the business. So no you should not get more than you charged when winning. That is what was paid for!
My point was that since I do NOT expect to get paid more when the selections win, the customer should not ask for a refund when they lose.
My plays are based on hours of research each day and the best access to information in the business. The NBA write-ups demonstrate that. The same research goes into the MLB plays but there is simply not enough time to produce a thorough write-up on the many MLB plays that I have (ten last Sunday). I know a few of my customers like to bet the five-cent MLB lines available daily at 5dimes before 8 am, so I get the plays up as soon as I can. Personally, I have been feasting on these soft lines (-140 one way and +135 the other!).
I personally have paid for college football plays from expert college football handicappers. I understand that there is a significant amount of randomness involved and understand that there is a non-zero probability that I will lose. I don't complain when I lose and, similarly, I don't call up my broker to ****, whine and ask for a refund when my retirement account drops in value for three weeks in a row.
I would like my customers to think that they are paying for my time and my expertise, as business would pay for consultants who are experts in their fields. If a customer does not like my plays, they should handicap themselves or buy some one else's. It seems like a reasonable position to me.
