Analysis: The Seattle Mariners has a solid first half of the year, going 51-44, but they did go just 4-6 in their last 10 games before the break and now find themselves 8 games behind the Oakland A's in the AL West. Seattle is a solid 27-18 on the road this year and they also have gone 26-21 vs the AL West so far. The Mariners not been all that good on offense this year, as they come in ranked 19th in scoring (3.98 rpg), 24th in hitting (.245), and 18th in homers (79). The pitching for the Mariners has been very strong, as they come in ranked 3rd in ERA (3.16) and 1st in WHIP (1.15). Getting the ball for the Mariners tonight will be Hisashi Iwakuma, who is 8-4 with a 2.98 ERA overall, while on the road he is 4-0 with a 3.31 ERA. Iwakuma is 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA in 6 career starts vs the Halos. 

The LA Angels had a great first half of the season, as they currently are 57-37 overall, while having the best home record in the league at 32-15. The Halos went into the break having won 19 of their last 23 games and have closed the game on the Oakland A's to just 1.5 games. The Angels come in with the top scoring offense in baseball, putting up 5.09 rpg, while ranking 3rd in hitting (.269) and 5th in homers (101). The pitching has been solid for the Angels, as they are 15th in ERA (3.84), 9th in WHIP (1.24) and 5th in strikeouts (789). Getting the ball for the Angels tonight will be Jered Weaver, who is 10-6 with a 3.45 ERA overall, while at home he is 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA. Weaver is 14-9 with a 3.30 ERA in 29 career starts vs the Mariners. 

Pick: I will be going with the Under in this one. Iwakuma loves pitching vs the Halos, coming in with a 1.60 ERA in 6 career starts vs them and the Mariners will need a huge game from him as they come in having averaged a mere 1.90 RPG in their last 10 games, and they have scored more than 3 runs just twice in their last 14 games vs teams NOT NAMED Houston. The Halos offense went into the break hot, but gotta believe that the layoff will hurt them some in their first game back. Jered Weaver has allowed 2 ERs or less in 4 of his last 5 starts overall, while he has allowed more than 3 ERs just once in his last 10 starts vs the Mariners. The Under is 5-1-3 in Weaver's last 9 home starts vs the Mariners and 33-14-4 in his last 51 home starts vs a team with a winning record, while the Under is 20-8 in the Mariners last 28 games following a loss. I'll look for 5 or less runs to be scored here.
