Analysis: I recommended a "puck line" wager on the Boston Bruins yesterday against the New Jersey Devils. Boston lost 3-2, and we once again came away with another "free play" winner, pushing our run to six in a row.

Tonight the New York Islanders travel to Vancouver to take on the red-hot Canucks at 10:00 ET and for a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is the Isles on the "puck line".

Vancouver has won seven straight at GM Place; New York has lost eight straight on the road.

Vancouver is coming off a 3-1 victory over Calgary on Sunday, a game which saw it net all three goals in the first period.

Roberto Luongo is scheduled between the pipes tonight; he's 1-0-1 against the Isles with a 1.39 GAA and he should be sharp again this evening.

The Isles will be looking to snap their road woes with a concerted effort this evening and enter this contest with considerable momentum; they hammered the Leafs 4-1 on Sunday, and the Devils 4-2 on Saturday.

"We feel like we owe each other results and consistency," said Martin Biron, who stopped 26 shots Sunday. "When you play with the attitude and dedication we have right now, you have that sense you're going to play well."

Whether its Biron or Roloson in net, I look for New York to come out fired up as it catches a somewhat complacent Canucks team "looking ahead" to two very tough games over the next four days; the Sharks swim into town on Thursday, while the Wings fly in on Saturday.

Another tightly contested affair; Isles on the "puck line".

Analysis: Have to make a small play here on Sacramento. Even to this day, people in Sacramento get fired up when the Lakers come to town. This will be a sellout, and the crowd will be LOUD in favor of the Kings. This game simply means more to the Kings than it does to the Lakers. The Lakers played last night, and barely got by the Warriors. It's not easy playing the day after playing the Warriors. Golden St. will run you into the ground, so playing the very next day against a team that is so YOUNG isn't easy. Oddsmakers know this, and that's why they've set the line they have. Let's be real here, this line has come down since it's opening despite heavy action on the Lakers. That alone should make you wary about backing the Lakers here.

I backed the Kings the last time the Lakers came to town, and i was robbed. That's right, i was robbed. I had the Kings at this same exact number we are getting today, and we ended up losing not only the game, but also the COVER in DOUBLE OT! You can best bet Sacramento remembers that game vividly, and they want nothing more than to get another shot at the Lakers. Sacramento has been playing pretty good ball of late, as their ATS will show. I think that continues today as well.

Bottom line, i don't think the Lakers are in very good form. I know they are struggling a bit right now with their identity. They are trying to play better defense by focusing on that, but it's simply not working out that well. I think they are in a tough situational spot tonight, and they will likely get a real fight from the Kings. The Lakers had a tough game last night, but when they win it's like all is forgotten. They have some flaws last night, and playing a team that considers you a rival is never easy to deal with. I'm backing Sacramento +6 for 1 UNIT tonight. This is a 1 UNIT PREMIUM PLAY!
