For the second game of this series the
obvious would be naturally the Celtics. However 8/8.5 points isn't the fair
line and the Bulls are getting some value tonight. I took the Under in the
first game of the series and unfortunately the game went to overtime and we lost
the bet in an undeserved way. You might think that the Celtics didn't play
well defensively however I think that their biggest problem was the offense.
The Celtics have some edges but they didn't
work out last game. They have the size advantage down the post but the Bulls had
the same offensive boards than the Champs = 10! They should outscore heavily
the Bulls in the paint but they ended with just more 6 points in the paint than
the Bulls: 36 vs.30. They need to slow down the pace to explore these edges but
they couldn't do it! If we discount the numbers in the Overtime the Celtics
shot 36-91 FG and the Bulls 37-90 FG!
We are talking about 181
field goals, last season the "great" defensive Celtics allowed their opponents
to shot 76.0 field goals per game and only 71.0 FG/game during the playoffs! I
know that Ray Allen had a awful game shooting 1 for 12 from the field but the
same can be said about Ben Gordon and John Salmons!?.I know that rookie sensation
Derrick Rose had a monster game but so did Rajon Rondo. Don't you think that if
Ray Allen shoots lights out tonight the Celtics will crush because that won't
happen! The key is to slow down the pace and turn the game into a half court
battle, if the Celtics think they can outscore the Bulls well...a upset is
coming on the way because the Bulls are a better jump shooting team, period!
