I see a lot of value on the opening night board. I like 4 games.
1. ATLANTA DREAM -4 at NY Libertry
The Liberty are a mess from the top down (yes they hired Isiah Thomas as President). They made a big trade for Epiphanny Prince but she will miss the start of the season because she has chosen to play in the Euro Basket tournament instead. Oof. Atlanta is a talented team that has been kept in tact. This line should be higher than 4.
2. CHICAGO SKY -8 vs Indiana Fever
The Fever will be without 2nd leading scorer Shavante Zellous who is playing in the Euro Basket tournament. Leading scorer and future hall of famer Tamika Catchings is getting old and is retiring soon. I expect her level of play to drop off. Plus she missed the preseason where the new head coach installed a new offensive system. It will be a rough transition period early on for Indiana in the post Lin Dunn era. Meanwhile Elena Delle Donne has looked healthy this preseason (she has Lyme disease) and when she is healthy Chicago is a completely different team.
3. SAN ANTONIO STARS +7.5 at Phoenix Mercury
This is too many points for the Mercury to be laying without Diana Tuarasi (sitting out the year because her Russian team is paying her more), Brittney Griner (suspended for the start of the season) and Penny Taylor (hurt and/or retired). Phoenix is overvalued because they are the defending champs. Meanwhile San Antonio seems to be getting better and while they lost Becky Hammon to retirement she was really wasn't contributing that much statistically last year anyways.
4. TULSA SHOCK +15 at Minnesota Lynx
Tulsa is underrated and seem closer to where they want to be after a painful rebuild. They have an explosive back court with Diggins and Simms and addressed their low post need with second overall pick Amanda Zahui B. Minnesota is a quality team but this is too many points to be laying to the up and coming Shock.
2015 WNBA RECORD: 1-0
