Thanks SportingIntellect for the code and good luck this season. Ran the code below and found that Saints and Steelers are both in this spot in week one but the ATS numbers don't warrant a play.
tS(W)[team and season-2] + tS(W)[team and season-3]>=24 and tS(W)[team and season-1]<=8 and week=1
ATS 9-8
OU 11-6
It's great to see intelligent handicappers asking good questions and getting answers from other SDQL users.
I took the liberty to investigate further and found this:
tS(W)[team and season-2] + tS(W)[team and season-3]>=22 and tS(W)[team and season-1] <= 8 and week=1 and line < 7 and season >= 2006
The English translation is: NFL teams that won eight or fewer games last season and won 22-plus combined in the previous two seasons are 9-0 ATS in week one since 2006 as long as they are not a TD-plus dog, covering by an average of 11.9 ppg.
Again, both the Steelers and Saints qualify, as you can see by running the SDQL text.
Shiv and SI, Thanks for your valuable contributions to this thread!
