Friday’s practice provided no more clarity regarding who will be under center for the Buffalo Bills (6-6) when they welcome the Indianapolis Colts (3-9) to New Era Field for a 1 p.m. game Sunday.
Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor suffered a patella tendon contusion on the Bills’ first offensive play of the Week 13 loss to the New England Patriots. Taylor, who sat out team practice drills Thursday, was back on the field Friday as a limited participant. Unlike Thursday’s session, Taylor will participate in both team and individual drills during Friday’s practice, but he was still limited. His availability will be a game-time decision.
After missing practice Wednesday, it is at least a positive sign for Taylor’s chances of starting Sunday that Taylor was back on the practice field, even in a limited capacity. Taylor is still considered day-to-day with his injury.
In other injury news, first-year head coach Sean McDermott provided Bills fans with some positive updates. Running back Travaris Cadet (concussion) has been cleared from the league’s concussion protocol and should be ready to go vs. the Colts.
Same goes for defensive tackle Kyle Williams (groin). Williams missed both Wednesday and Thursday’s practices, but McDermott told the media that Williams should be ready to play Sunday. He was limited on Friday.
McDermott said he feels “pretty good” about the chances of wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (knee) suiting up vs. the Colts. When it comes to left tackle Cordy Glenn (foot/ankle), McDermott said “we’ll see” about the odds of Glenn returning to the lineup.
Benjamin was a full participant Friday, as were tight end Charles Clay (knee), defensive tackle Deandre Coleman (knee), running back LeSean McCoy (knee), fullback Mike Tolbert (hamstring), cornerback Tre’Davious White (concussion), and defensive end Eddie Yarbrough (chest).
Glenn, cornerback Leonard Johnson (knee), Taylor, and Kyle Williams were limited in practice.
The only two Bills who didn’t practice Thursday were tackle Seantrel Henderson (back) and guard John Miller (ankle). Miller has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Would it be fair to say that Benjamin could be an important addition? I’d like to think so, but he doesn’t make enough separation to make Taylor happy, and Peterman of course has a tendency to throw to the other team. Can the Bills’ offense actually wake up and show something finally? At home against the Colts has got to be their best hope.
