This can include all genre: mafia, heists, gangs, etc. So Godfather, New Jack City, The Town all are examples. For me it is a toss up between Godfather II and Goodfellas. The tie-breaker nod for Goodfellas is based on being a true story. Anything that is true that can be put on the big screen is always a plus. Also, you always hear the book was better. In this case the book and movie were both amazing. Without a doubt The Godfather greatest movie of all time IMO
for me the answer is Casino. story line might not be quite as good but the characters are developed so well. Ill give a nod to Goodfellas and can I count Boardwalk Empire? lol but ill take Casino
Boyz n the hood!
I liked CASINO. The movie was BETTER over the book.
Goodfellas by a nose over The Godfather! Both sensational and it's like choosing between Secretariat and Seabiscuit.
I agree with Spartan, Goodfellas #1 followed closely by The Godfather.
Okay, I'm gonna name one of my faves. It's not the best but it was written by Richard (The Wire) Price. Kiss of Death (1995). David Caruso, Nic Cage, Sam Jackson, Ving Rhames. It was a remake of an 40s gangster movie. To get an early release from prison to get custody of his parentless daughter, Caruso agrees to infiltrate Nic Cage's crew while wearing a wire and dodging double agents.
GoodFellas gotta be the one!
Bonnie and Clyde and I liked Scarface as well.
Underrated: The Untouchables, Mean Streets
Obviously Godfather's I, II along with Goodfellas, Casino, Carlito's Way and even Miller's Crossing is great.
However, my personal fave is Once Upon A Time In America.
