Steve....Awesome write up!! Thanks Steve for sharing. As you know I lost my Dad back in 2013 unexpectedly...and as the years went by he was my best friend. I made sure we did things together..and even at the age of 81 he was still bowling with me and many of my younger friends enjoyed being around him..carried a solid 170 ave until his passing. My Dad was an excellent example of Husband, Father and friend. Never heard him complain about anything from working some 46 years with the same company to dealing with chemo, radiation and surgery to remove his cancer which he survived and was cancer free when he passed. His heart failed him in the end. He raised my 3 brothers and me by example in all aspects of life. He loved sports, played many in high school..and like many during his football days, played on both sides of the ball. Yeah he was tough. Served in the Air force was proud of our military. Took us to our first and many more Yankee games...Mets games...area college football games up North and later we had season tickets to all the Clemson games for years..always a treat! He loved all Sports. Later in life his happiness like my Moms, who recently passed away months ago, was found in their son's happiness. Like you I could go on and on...and I'm sure many guys on here have some of the same stories.. and we've hopefully learned about whats really important in life... what we do in our leisure for fun should never take away from whats really important. Especially when you have children that look to you for love, guidance, and acceptance:: Or any other serious family responsibility that requires your full-time commitment as I had to deal with... and I wouldn't change that even after experiencing it. If anyone is still blessed with them my advise echoes Steve's.... Dont take them for granted..life can change in an instant, let them know what they mean to you.. because like me..When I left him and said goodbye he was fine, talking about what we're going to be doing and He smiled and said " see you later.. have a good day" . Three hours later I was called home and He was gone....sorry for the long post.
