Yesterday, I attended the Michigan vs TCU game and was instantly hooked. I had previously only followed hockey as a Canadian, but my newfound interest in NFL football on Sundays has made me want to dive deeper into the world of college football. However, with so many teams and a rich history, it can be difficult to choose a favorite team. As I have no personal connections to any particular team, I am looking for certain criteria in my selection. Firstly, I would like to be part of a fun fan base that is exciting to travel with and attend games, and I also appreciate a good campus experience, tailgating culture, and cool merchandise. Secondly, I want to choose a team with a rich history to learn about. Thirdly, I would like a team with the potential to win, but not necessarily right away. They should have a strong program, good coaching, solid recruiting, and a chance to succeed. Fourthly, the team's location is important to me. I live in Toronto, so I am looking for a team that is either nearby or a destination team in a warm weather location where I can make a weekend trip out of it. Fifthly, I would like to be able to follow the careers of current players as they progress to the NFL. Lastly, I want to avoid being labeled a bandwagoner.
