SIU AT YOUNGSTOWN ST.
SIU is coming off of what will most likely be the biggest upset of the year with their 38-14 win over #1 N. Dakota St. That makes this a perfect letdown spot for the Salukis. But I don't think head coach Nick Hill will let that happen. SIU is ranked #5 in one national poll and #11 in another while Y'town St. remains unranked. Y'town St. is 0-2 under first year head coach Doug Phillips. I really like SIU to put up another double digit win if they can avoid the hangover from their big upset win last week.

MURRAY ST. AT SEMO (this game will be played Sunday)
SEMO is coming off of a 47-7 beat down of EIU in which most of their 2 deep roster was sitting for the 4th quarter. SEMO would have put more points on the board except for two or three unsportsman like conduct calls that turned most likely touchdowns into field goals. They had a total of 9 penalties called against them and I thought coach Tuke had a great answer when ask about them. “We didn’t turn this program around by being polite,” Matukewicz said. “When you’re going at it, sometimes things happen.” “Our goal is not to be the least penalized team in America,” Matukewicz said. “But we can’t have stupid penalties and we’re going to coach them.” SEMO is ranked #14 and #16 in this weeks two polls.
Murray St. is coming off of a big upset win over UT-Martin 14-10. This game was played in a rain storm that had a 2 hour lightning delay. The Racers are led by first year head coach Dean Hood. He spent 8 seasons as EKU's head coach among many other stops. I have a lot of respect for coach Hood and have no doubt he'll get this Racer program going in the right direction.
I really like this SEMO team as this program no longer has to rebuild they are now at the point where they just reload. I look for another 14+ win .
