They were serious national title contenders before last week, that dream is over. If that does not constitute a letdown situation I have never seen one. A good basis for this idea of mine is how teams do after their 1st loss late in the season. Most teams off their 1st loss this late in the season had title aspirations. The last 26 fourteen point or greater favorites coming off their 1st loss of the season after week 9 are 5-21 ATS. Only one lost SU, BUT 5 COVERED ATS. I know ND had a loss before last week, but they fit this situation the same as all those previously unbeaten teams did. This only goes back to 2008 too so it's not like this is some long drawn out thing. You think they care which of the other bowls they go to? LOL
