Cloned - there are several reasons why I like K-State. 1. Both teams like to play it slow and controlled, and both rely on good defense. So, whose offense is more likely to be affected by a good defense? I'd say Loyola is more likely to have a subpar offensive game, as K-State's guards can get out and guard the perimeter. Statistically, Loyola is a better shooting team, and they rely more on making shots than K-State. K-State shot 35% from the field against Kentucky, 63% from the line, was called for 30 fouls and outshot at the line by 15 FT's (Bruce Weber must have thought he was playing KU in Lawrence!) and still won. Loyola made their first 12 shots of the 2H, and still had to hang on for dear life the other night. 2. Mokol Mawein has stepped in effectively for Dean Wade. He scored 29 against KU in the Big 12 tournament, but he was at his worst on Thursday night. K-State still won. Anything they get from Dean Wade today will be a bonus. 3. Neither team rebounds the ball well. If one team steps up today and rebounds, that could make a big difference. 4. Loyola's guards got to the basket and scored almost at will the other night against Nevada. I don't look for them to be able to do the same against K-State. 5. As I write this, the tickets and the cash are coming in on K-State. That could change throughout the day.
