913 Yankees -115 over Twins
This will be a great series to watch but I’m gonna go with the Yankees and Sabathia to take game 1. Both teams have been great all season while being the leaders in their divisions. Sabathia has had a solid year with a 5-4 record while the Yankees are 9-6 in games he starts. Sabathia also has great career numbers against potential batters that’ll be in the lineup for the Twins (.243/.290/.734) I’m expecting that to continue. Martin Perez will get the start and he’s been solid this season also with a 8-3 record and the Twins are 9-7 in games he starts. The advantage the Yankees have is that the potential batters that will be in the lineup for the Yankees have great numbers against Perez (.315/.417/.960). Edwin Encarnacion, Didi Gregorius, Aaron Hicks, Aaron Judge, DJ LeMahieu, Austin Romine, Gary Sanchez and Luke Voit have all faced Perez and all hit .270 or better off him so a combination of at least 5 of these 8 batters should be in the lineup tonight. The Twins are 2-6 in their last 8 games following a win. The Yankees are 12-2 in Sabathia’s last 14 starts vs. the Twins.
