He doesn't run out ground balls either. He either hits a home run or he doesn't want to play.
By running out grounders you put pressure on the infielder to make a quick accurate play and throw, sometimes causing an errant throw or even beating it out for a hit. This never happens with Harper, his lack of effort ensures he is always out on an infield ground ball. Infielder has plenty of time to bobble, recover and make an easy throw in plenty of time.
Pisses me off to no end when I see an over paid athlete dogging it at work over and over and over again.
He should just run straight to the dugout on a grounder. A "Charlie Hustle" he is not.
Manager should bench his ass for lack of hustle until he shows he's ready to hustle in practice. I don't care how many home runs he hits, lack of hustle can be contagious and the whole team could become sloths.
