Took it on the chin today with an 0-3 day, down 3.15 units. This was one of those that you burn the film! On to Friday, and this looks like a lot of crazy lines to me, all in the American League. I know the sportsbooks are typically smarter than this. I figure I am going to have a spectacular day or I am going to take it on the chin again. I've got a big card, and one dominated by underdogs. My picks are as follows:
Twins ML F5 +155 This game headlines my crazy line theory. The Indians have been playing well, and the offense has really been lighting it up. And the Twins certainly have a hittable pitcher taking the mound. However, the Twins have the second best road record in baseball, going 20-9 overall, so they are in their comfort zone. The Indians are just 15-17 at home. Plus two other intangible factors I like here. I like fading teams playing their first game at home the day after concluding a long road trip. And I like the "adjustment factor" that favors the Twins versus Trevor Bauer. Bauer threw a gem at Minnesota last week, so I look for the Twins batters to make the adjustment against him and tag him good. I am playing the first 5 to take away Cleveland's enormous bullpen advantage.
LA Angels ML +152 After looking through the numbers, I cannot find one reason to back Rick Porcello here. Add to that a bullpen that was responsible for two losses in Kansas City, and I look for the Angels to put up some runs. And the Angels offensive explosion (winning two of three, both wins as greater than -200 underdogs) in Yankee Stadium, they come in as a hot hitting team. Plus, there is that "first game back off a long road trip" thing (although the Sox had Thursday off).
Rangers ML +106
Royals ML +118
I might have another couple of plays from the National League tomorrow.
Good luck everyone!
