Analysis: The Utah State Aggies come in at 4-2 on the year, which includes a huge road win at BYU two weeks ago and then last week they took out Air Force at home by 18 points. The Aggies are 17-5 ATS in their last 21 games vs a team with a winning record and 9-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs conference opponents. Chuckie Keeton is gone for the year, but Darell Garretson has done a nice job filling in, as he has hit 66.4% of his passes for 1008 yards with 8 TDs and 2 INTs. The Aggis do have a star at WR in Hunter Sharp, who has caught 40 passes for 642 yards and 5 TDs. Overall Utah State comes in ranked 88th in total offense, 56th in passing, 99th in rushing and 84th in scoring (27.7 ppg), while the defense has been very solid, ranking 42nd in yards allowed, 91st vs the pass, 13th vs the run and 52nd in points allowed (23.2 ppg).
The Colorado State rams are off to a fine 5-1 start this year, which includes a perfect 2-0 start at home. In their last game the Rams took a hard fought 31-24 victory at Nevada, while their lone loss on the year was in game two at Boise State. The Rams are 18-7 ATS in their last 25 games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games at home. The Rams are led on offense by Garrett Grayson, who has thrown for 1823 yards and 16 TDs on the year. He has a favorite target and that is Rashard Higgins, who has 44 catches for 776 yards and 10 TDs on the year. The Rams are a very strong offensive tea that ranks 22nd in total yards, 15th in passing, 62nd in rushing and 47th in scoring (33.5 ppg), while the defense has not been as good, ranking 100th in yards allowed, 89th vs the pass, 98th vs the run and 49th in points allowed (22.8 ppg).
Pick: Gonna go with the Rams in this one. The Aggies have played well of late, beating BYU and Air Force in their last 2 games, but i see that streak coming to an end at Colorado State, where the Rams have won their two home games this year by 28 and 25 points. Utah State did beat BYU on the road, but remember that the Cougars did lose Taysom hill in that game. Prior to that road game the Aggies lost by 7 in OT at Arkansas State and in an earlier road game they lost by 31 against Tennessee. The Rams are a very under rated team and will win this one by at least a TD.
