Pro Football Betting Odds Chicago Bears vs New England Patriots Free Pick

Pro Football Sunday and we will see the Chicago Bears take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The game has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on FOX. Current Vegas odds have the Patriots listed as 6.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 50.5.

Analysis: The Chicago Bears seem to be a mess right and they come in off a bad 27-14 loss at Miami. The Bears are now 3-4 on the year, going 3-1 on the road, but 0-3 at home. Chicago is just 1-12 ATS after playing a non-conference game and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game, but they are also 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game. Chicago is an average offensive team that ranks 17th in total yards, 10th in passing, 24th in rushing and 18th in scoring (22.4 ppg). On defense they are below average, ranking 17th in yards allowed, 20th vs the pass, 14th vs the run and 22nd in points allowed (24.4 ppg).

The New England Patriots come in at 5-2 on the year and are in a familiar spot, which is atop the AFC East standings. After their horrible showing on MNF a few weeks back vs Kansas City, the Pats have reeled off 3 straight wins, including last weeks hard fought 27-25 win at home vs the Jets. The host is 4-1 ATS the last 5 in this series and the Pats are 803 ATS in their last 11 home games, but they are also 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs a team with a losing record. The Pats offense has been very average this year, ranking 18th in total yards, 15th in passing, 20th in rushing and 7th in scoring (26.7). The defense for the Pats has been solid, ranking 12th in yards allowed, 1st vs the pass, 24th vs the run and 12th in points allowed (22 ppg).

Pick: I Like the Over in this game. The Chicago Bears are a mess between the ears right now, but getting out on the road and away from the pressures of home should help them here, as they will look to just play football and let it all hang out. The Bears do have a solid offense, especially on the road, where they have averaged 26.5 ppg, scoring 24 or more in all 4 of their road games so far. Also helping the Bears offense is the fact that Jerrod Mayo and Chandler Jones will be both out for the Patriots in this one and they did struggle last week with just Mayo missing vs a much weaker Jets offense. The Pats offense has been humming of late, averaging 408 ypg and 35.7 ppg in their last 3 games, while Chicago comes in having allowed 27.3 ppg in their last 4 games. The over is 5-1 in the Bears last 6 road games and 15-3 in the Pats last 18 home games vs a team with a losing record. This game should be a shootout.
