The Weekend is creeping in closer, albeit slowly, and that means that My Court is now in session. Need an expert Judicial opinion on a game this Saturday? I will hear any and all query's that come my way.
And as a special bonus, for those of us feeling a little thirsty on this Thursday, let's start a discussion about TONIGHT! We've got an ACC battle on the Flagship tonight at 7:30 ET as Clemson faces off against Wake Forest where the Deacons find themselves 3 TD Dogs.
Two weeks ago, I used Boston College (-13) as a road favorite at Wake Forest. Knowing that Wake is one of my OFFENSIVE OAFS, averaging just 14.7 PPG, 214 YPG, and 3.4 YP play, I felt very comfortable with the 23-3 BC 4th quarter lead knowing they were a DEFENSIVE DANDY. Final: BC 23-17, as Wake scored not 1, but 2, backdoor TDs.
Even with that cover, Wake has now been outscored 96-23 in their last 3 games and is averaging just 35/1.1 overland for the season. Tuesday night, with 20 minutes remaining in the game, Toledo held a comfortable 30-6 lead against Towel Tossing OFFENSIVE OAF, Kent St., who was averaging just 14 PPG. You guessed it! Kent outscores the Rockets 14-0 in the last 20 minutes for the backdoor cover. Again tonight, with their pop-gun offense, it clearly does not appear that Wake can score against a DEFENSIVE DANDY that is Clemson.
The Tigers allow just 269 YPG on 4.2 YP play. In fact, the Tigers’ stop unit has been so good that their last 4 opponents have totaled just 36 points (9 per game). But, before you take off the rubber band against lowly Wake, understand that this line is more than 2 TDs inflated from where it would have been opening week. Also, know that since the injury of Clemson QB Watson, that his replacement Stoudt, has led the Tigers to a 0-3 ATS mark in which they have averaged just 19 PPG. With Clemson having won 5 straight contests and Wake having dropped 4 straight, I say momentum players should be wary.
