No this isn't a debate on who was better, Derek Jeter or Tony Gwynn. They are both highly deserving Hall of Famers.
This is a knock on FOX for sucking up so much to Jeter that his name was mentioned around 100 times compared to no mentions of Gwynn, who passed away just a month ago. There also wasn't any mention of the late Don Zimmer or Bob Welch.
Fox and MLB just don't get it. They've lost the national past time to football and basketball. They just go on doing one clueless thing after another, including reducing the mystique of the All-Star Game.
Only 17 players in baseball history finished with a higher batting average than Gwynn's .338 and he played for 20 years. Gwynn also was a great ambassador to the game and easily is the greatest San Diego Padre ever.
Yet FOX and MLB couldn't even find 30 seconds during their broadcast to memorize Gwynn.
On the handicapping front, I have a Triple Star CFL Game of the Month today between Edmonton and Winnipeg. I have cashed 7 of my last 8 Triple Stars and have won 64 percent of my CFL plays since last season. The play can be found here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, no bad luck!
