Not that there is anything positive about injured Mike Stanton being out at least four weeks - because there isn't - but at least the Miami Marlins should have a clear course of action now.
The Marlins have been clueless for a long time. Stanton's injury, though, gives them a direction: Play for next year!
That means taking what you can for Dan Haren, Mat Latos, Michael Morse, Martin Prado and Ichiro Suzuki, who can still hit.
The Marlins don't need to rush Jose Fernandez and Henderson Alvarez back. Let them ease in while being patient in finding out just how promising Justin Nicolino and Jose Urena are.
If the Marlins can get some young talent for their veterans they would be in a position to factor in the 2016 race owning Stanton, the best power guy in the NL if not all baseball, a healthy stud in Fernandez and the second-best stolen base man in Dee Gordon not to mention good young starting pitchers.
What the Marlins shouldn't do is stand pat, which probably is just what they'll do.
I'm glad to see the Canadian Football League has started. The Week 1 numbers can be weak, which I believe they are in a game today that I have made a Triple Star totals play on. It can be found here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, let's have no bad luck.
