The Cleveland Indians are hosting Game 1 of the World Series tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. The World Series Odds for the game have the Cubs favored to pick up the win.

Both Chicago and Cleveland have spent a long time avoiding the World Series trophy. Certainly it hasn't been intentional, but now these two clubs finally get a chance to break their respective curses. The Indians have not won a World Series since 1948, the Cubs have not won since 1908. Both have been in the World Series since, with Chicago qualifying in 1945 but nothing since. Cleveland was most recently in the World Series in 1997.
Jon Lester gets the baseball tonight for the Cubs, Corey Kluber gets the ball for the Indians. Both are the aces for their respective teams, which should make this an excellent game.
Lester is 2-0 in the post season with an 0.86 ERA. Kluber's post season ERA sits at 1.59 and he's 1-1 during his three starts, he's given up two earned runs these playoffs and they both came in a loss to Toronto. Both starters should be ready to go in this one and they'll each be facing off against a tough and gritty opposing offense.
The managers are great, too. Joe Maddon is looked at as the savior of Cubs baseball, but he might actually be at a disadvantage in this series. Terry Francona has won multiple World Series titles, which gives him the edge in this series.
The pitching will obviously play a major role in this series as well. The starters are going to be a big deal, but Cleveland's bullpen will also be discussed quite a bit. Andrew Miller has been lights out coming out of that pen this post season and will certainly be a major factor on the back end of all those arms.
Tonight the Indians get a leg up in the series with a win at home.
