World Cup Consolation Match Brazil vs Netherlands Start Time, Odds

World Cup 2014: Winners and Losers from Brazil vs. Germany Semi-Final

The Netherlands and Brazil meet up today in the World Cup Consolation Match. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. (EST) start time and it will be televised live on ESPN. Currently the odds for the match have Brazil favored to win.

Brazil can't be as bad as they were in a 7-1 loss to Germany. The Netherlands is hoping to bounce back from losing to Argentina in penalty kicks. While the Dutch might feel pretty good about a third place finish here at the World Cup, Brazil is obviously looking at it as a disappointment.

So here we have a team that wants to win and a team that might still have a layover from the beatdown they got from Germany. How will Brazil respond?

These teams have each beaten the other twice in four World Cup matchups. They've played in some memorable matchups and hopefully this one will be memorable as well.

The Brazilians are playing without Neymar and Fred needs to pick it up in the front end. Julio Cesar probably should be better in this matchup as well.

We're expecting Brazil to play well for the home crowd. Having been embarrassed by the Germans in front of their own fans, a rebound should be in order.

The Dutch would like to get Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie loose in this one. Both had chances against Argentina in their semifinal match, but neither were able to break free and score.

Both of these teams have grinded their way here, losing just a single match, albeit their last one on the pitch. The fans of Brazil are hoping for a victory, but we think the Dutch will let the squad loose.

Prediction: Netherlands 2, Brazil 1
