The semifinals of the gentlemen's draw at Wimbledon is finally upon us as both matches get underway Friday. The 2012 Wimbledon Semifinals pits Novak Djokovic vs. Roger Federer in the first matchup of the day. The match is slated to be the first on Centre Court and it has a start time of 8:00 a.m. EST and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the match have Djokovic as a decent favorite at -245.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer aren't strangers. They've met on the tennis court a remarkable 26 previous times with Roger holding a 14-12 advantage in the matchup. They've played twice this season — both on clay — and Djokovic won both of those in straight sets. Federer is historically a pretty good clay player but he's another animal when it comes to playing on the lawns of the All English Club. What's kind of funny about the history of these two tennis legends is that they've never met on a grass court before. They've met plenty of times on hard courts and clay, but have never faced off on grass. So in a way we get to see history made.

The odds on Djokovic indicate he has a pretty good chance to win the match. In fact, based on numbers alone, the betting line gives us a 71 percent chance of winning the match. I know Federer isn't the same player he was, but he's still regarded to be one of the best players ever to take the court in London. He's still going for a record seventh Wimbledon title and if he gets past Djokovic, he'll probably be favored over either Andy Murray or Jo-Willy Tsonga. But of course, that remains to be seen. He's still got to beat Novak first.

Anytime we can get Roger at this price, more than doubling our bet with a victory, we have to take him. He's anywhere from 2/1 to more than 2.5/1 odds to win the matchup. Both players have been playing great to get to this point, so I'm expecting a 5-set battle between these two greats. But, with bigtime matchups like this comes bigtime value. We're taking Roger.
