Updated Preakness Stakes Odds

On Saturday, the second leg of the Triple Crown takes place in the 142nd Preakness Stakes. The race is scheduled for a 6:48 p.m. EST start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. Always Dreaming, winner of the Kentucky Derby, will look to break through and win the second leg of the Triple Crown.

Preakness Stakes Post Positions and Updated Odds

1. Multiplier 17-1
2. Cloud Computing 13-1
3. Hence 19-1
4. Always Dreaming 3-2
5. Classic Empire 2-1

Always Dreaming is the favorite to win the race, based on it being the second leg of the Triple Crown. The "Run for the Black-Eyed Susans" is held on the third Saturday in May and is only trumped by the Kentucky Derby in attendance for North American stakes races. The 142nd Preakness Stakes is scheduled to take place on May 20, 2017 at Pimlico in Baltimore, Maryland.

Preakness Facts: Opening day at Pimlico Race Course in 1870 featured the Dinner Party Stakes that was won by a horse named Preakness. In the racetrack's spring meet of 1873, the 3-year-old stakes race was named after him and the rest is history. The first official Preakness was won by Survivor with a 10 length cushion between him and second place. This record win was not topped until 2004 when Smarty Jones took home the title by an amazing 11 lengths.

Triple Crown Winners (Official List): Sir Barton (1919), Gallant Fox (1930), Omaha (1935), War Admiral (1937), Whirlaway (1941), Count Fleet (1943), Assault (1946), Citation (1948), Secretariat (1973), Seattle Slew (1977), Affirmed (1978) and American Pharoah (2015).
