UEFA Euro 2012 Finals Spain vs. Italy Betting Odds

The UEFA Euro 2012 tournament finals have finally come as the tournament reaches its apex. Spain, considered to be one of the favorites heading into the tournament, held serve and has reached the finals, looking for their second straight EURO championship, taking on Italy. The UEFA Euro 2012 final matchup Spain vs. Italy has a start time of 2:30 p.m. Sunday and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds have Spain as the favorite to repeat as EURO title holders.

The official odds for the match have the Spaniards set at -180 to win outright courtesy of the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Hilton) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The -180 (Risk $180 to win back $100) odds indicate that Spain has a 64 percent chance to repeat as EURO champions. Italy also has somewhat decent odds for being in the championship at +180 (Risk $100 to win back $180), indicating they have a 36 percent chance of dethroning the Spaniards and winning the EURO championship. Both of those odds are for either team to win after the final whistle is blown, no matter how they got there.

There are also odds for 90 minutes + injury time, which have Spain at -1/2 goals (meaning they are leading) at +110. The odds on Italy at +1/2 goals (meaning they are either tied or ahead) are set at -130. The total for goals in the 90 minutes + injury time is set at 2 (over +110, under -130). These numbers indicate to us that the LVH is anticipating a game that probably will be tied after the full 90 minutes have been played and that overtime and penalty kicks are probable. You can also bet on the 90 minutes + injury time "3-way" result. In this instance, if you bet on Spain your odds would be +110. Italy's odds are at +300 while the "draw" option, meaning the teams are tied and headed to overtime, is set at +210.

First half wagering has each team listed as "pick," meaning you literally just have to pick which side you think will be leading at halftime. The current odds for that have Spain at -180 and Italy at +160. The total is set at 1/2 goals with the over heavily juiced at -165. The -165 odds on the over 1/2 goals (meaning only one goal has to be scored) in the first half indicate there is a 62.26 percent chance of there being a goal scored in the opening half.
