ACC rivals Virginia Tech and Miami will jostle for divisional positioning tonight as they square off at Sun Life Stadium (7:30pm ET start time, ESPN). The latest Virginia Tech at Miami College Football Odds have the visiting Hokies listed as a -1.5 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 57.5 points.

Despite the way Virginia Tech and Miami have played this season, the two teams are in great position to take the ACC Coastal Division with a win this evening. The Hokies, at 2-2 in conference play, trail division leaders Duke, North Carolina, and Miami (3-2 ACC) by just a half game while the Hurricanes can take sole possession of the lead, if only temporarily, with a win this evening.

Just getting a win, of any kind, is probably Miami’s chief concern tonight, though. The Hurricanes produced a 4-1 record through five games, but they are 0-3 in their last three outings, losing to Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Florida State by an average of 18.3 points per game.

Virginia Tech finds itself in similar circumstances, having lost three of its last four games after a 3-1 start to the season. The Hokies come into this evening’s contest off of rest, which was much needed following a 38-17 loss at Clemson.

Virginia Tech, which is 0-3 on the road this season, out-gained the Tigers 406 yards to 295 but four turnovers doomed the team to its third double digit setback of the season.

Regardless of the Hokies recent struggles, they have to feel good about their chances this evening. Virginia Tech has owned Miami of late, winning seven of the last 10 meetings between the two schools, including three of the last four at Sun Life Stadium.

The Hokies are also 7-1 opposite the number as a visitor in this rivalry series and 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games as a road favorite with a spread between 0 and 3.5 points.
