Major League baseball on Thursday night and I will have a Free Pick in the game between the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles, which will be played at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. First pitch is scheduled for a 7:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally.
Over/ Under: 8.5 U -125
This is game 4 of a 4 game series between these American League foes. Texas took the first two games behind some very good offense, but that offense was shutdown last night in the 4-2 loss. Texas is now 1 game over .500, but still 6 games behind the Astros in the AL West. With the win by the Orioles they have now taken over first place in the AL East by a half a game over the Yankees. The Rangers rank 9th in scoring (4.35 rpg), while on the mound they are 20th in ERA (4.00). Baltimore ranks 3rd in scoring (4.60 rpg), while on the mound they are 13th in ERA (3.77).
Trend for this game include: The Rangers are 22-7 in their last 29 road games vs. a team with a winning record and 14-5 in their last 19 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, but just 2-5 in Gallardos last 7 road starts. The Orioles are 12-4 in their last 16 games following a win and 45-18 in their last 63 home games vs. a right-handed starter, but just 1-5 in Gausmans last 6 starts on grass.
Getting the ball for Texas tonight will be Yovani Gallardo, who is 7-6 with a 2.72 ERA on the year overall, while on the road he has gone 3-4 with a 3.14 ERA. Gallardo is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA in 1 career start vs the Orioles.
Toeing the rubber for the Orioles tonight will be Kevin Gausman, who will be making just his 2nd start of the year. In his first start (June 20th) he allowed 2 ERs on 4 hits in 5 innings of a 5-3 Baltimore win over the Blue Jays. He got a no decision in that game. This will be his first ever start vs the Rangers.
Pick: I will go with the Orioles in this one. They are playing much better overall ball of late and just grabbed 1st place in the AL East, which I don't think they wanna give it up just yet. The Orioles have been very good at home, especially vs righties and I feel that will continue tonight vs Gallardo, who hasn't pitched that bad this year. Baltimore should take this one to gain a split of the series.

Deflategate, Tom Brady, and a Patriots Betting Update
After a glowing appeal in front of the NFL suits, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may not be serving all four games of his Deflategate suspension. Pro bettors Steve Fezzik and Scott Spreitzer talk about the likelihood Brady's punishment is reduced and how sports bettors can take advantage of this uncertain situation. Fezzik really likes taking +2.5 on the Patriots when they face the Dallas Cowboys in Texas during Week 5. The line is priced with the expectation Brady is out, but with him in, this is a great spot to bet before the line moves too much.
