The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners will take to the field in college football action on Saturday. This has the feel of another game Texas coach Charlie Strong has to have. The administration is saying the right things, but how long with Longhorn fans and boosters continue to watch drivel on the football field week after week? Oklahoma has its own problems, but their losses came to a pair of Top 10 teams in Houston and Ohio State. Bob Stoops and the boys won last week in a massive road contest at TCU, which helped the Sooners get back to even on the season. They still could run the table and win the Big 12, which would have them right back in the discussion for a strong bowl game. The Big 12 is one of those conferences that looks to eat itself alive this season as many teams look to beat up on each other, giving the conference no shot at a college football playoff spot.

Oklahoma is better all-around on both sides of the football. Remember Baker Mayfield, the pre-season Heisman candidate? He’s still there and has nine touchdowns passes on the season, which doesn’t bode well for the Longhorns, who rank inside the bottom 10 nationally with 12 TD passes given up so far.
