Texas A&M will join a conference this season that has produced the last six BCS National Champions. Unfortunately for the Aggies, odds makers do not feel the switch will benefit the school’s national title hopes. In fact, the latest Texas A&M Aggies 2013 BCS National Championship Odds would suggest it might hurt the team’s chances at finishing No. 1. The Aggies, who are listed as a 40-1 long shot to win the SEC, are drawing 120-1 odds ($100 to win $12000) to bring a National Championship back to College Station. Texas A&M is also considered a gamble to topple its new division home, sitting at 20-1 odds to win the SEC West.

Texas A&M had huge expectations a season ago, suffice it to say none of them were fulfilled. Head Coach Mike Sherman was shown the door after guiding a team many thought would challenge for the Big 12 title to a 7-6 record. Now the school, after a rather public feud with the University of Texas and an ugly departure from the Big 12, will make its debut in the SEC.

The 2012 Aggies do return 16 starters, including nine from an offense that averaged 39.1 points per game, to College Station, and they feature a new Head Coach in Kevin Sumlin who is anything but green when it comes to putting points on the scoreboard. Now for the negative: a schedule that includes road games at Auburn, Mississippi State, and Alabama, and a home slate that features Florida, Arkansas, LSU, and Missouri.
