Stanford 2012 College Football Predictions at 5Dimes.eu are favoring (-155 odds) the Cardinal to go over its projected season win total, but the offshore book has that number set at 7.5. Stanford is considered a long shot to win the PAC 12 North and PAC 12 Championship, drawing +775 odds and +2500, respectively, to do what it could not get done last season. 2013 BCS Odds for the team are long as well; the Cardinal are set at +27500 odds ($100 to win $27500) to capture the BCS National Championship.
Jim Harbaugh took over a 1-11 Stanford team back in 2007 and four seasons later he had the Cardinal playing in the Orange Bowl. David Shaw, who assumed head coaching duties last year after Harbaugh’s departure to the 49ers, had the benefit of Andrew Luck sticking around for another season, and he made the most of it as Stanford finished 11-2 and earned another BCS bowl bid. With Luck now among the NFL ranks, most are expecting the football program to regress this season.
Stanford will probably take a step back, but not a big one. The cupboard is certainly not bare as Shaw welcomes back 13 starters and 61 lettermen from last year’s squad. The returning experience should allow the Cardinal to show well, despite a schedule that features road games at Washington, Notre Dame, California, Oregon, and UCLA.
