SEC Football Alabama Crimson Tide at Georgia Bulldogs Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

A big battle in the SEC on Saturday will see the Georgia Bulldogs host the Alabama Crimson Tide. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the betting odds for the game have Georgia favored to pick up the win.

This is the first time in several years that Alabama is an underdog coming into a game. The Crimson Tide have been favored in every game since the 2009 SEC Championship game, when they came in as a dog to Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators. Alabama will be waltzing into this one with a bit of a chip on their collective shoulders as the Crimson Tide are still gunning for a playoff berth at the end of the season. A win on the road at Georgia, ranked eight in the country with its 4-0 record.

The Bulldogs already have a pair of conference victories, beating up on Vanderbilt and South Carolina as they have run the football effectively behind Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. Georgia will look to continue running the football in this one as well, but Alabama has a defensive front that can stop the run. The Crimson Tide rank fourth against the run in the country and are 12th in total defense, which means this could be a lower-scoring game between these two physical teams.

Alabama can run the football as well, Derrick Henry can pound it repeatedly or he can hit the home run.

Greyson Lambert is setting all kinds of completion percentage marks for the Bulldogs, he’s been lights out at that position. The Bulldogs haven’t played a single team with the type of pass rush Alabama is going to bring into this one, however.

And speaking of proverbial chips on shoulders, Georgia probably has one, too. The Bulldogs are routinely loaded with talented teams but unable to find a way into the national championship hunt. A win over Alabama would certainly help build their resume moving forward, even if the Crimson Tide aren’t the same team they’ve been the past five or six seasons.

This has the makings of a lower-scoring contest and Alabama as an underdog just looks like the play to make.
