The Detroit Tigers welcome in the Chicago White Sox again this afternoon in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 4:08 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Tigers favored to pick up the win in this one at home.
Detroit got an 8th inning home run from J.D. Martinez on Friday night, leading them to victory. Detroit has struggled all season to be a consistent ballclub, but stringing some victories together against the visiting White Sox could get them jump started moving forward.
The Tigers will send Kyle Ryan, a spot starter, to the mound in this one. He's 1-1 with a 4.56 ERA so far this season in three starts plus some work out of the bullpen. Back earlier this month Ryan threw against the White Sox, tossing seven innings and allowing just two earned runs on three hits.
Current White Sox have a .200 average against him in 40 plate appearances. Avisail Garcia has homered off of him, Jose Abreu and Alexei Ramirez also have had success.
The White Sox will send John Danks to the mound. He's 3-8 on the season with a 5.38 ERA and the Tigers have beat him up in recent years. Current Detroit hitters own a .286 average against him in 241 at bats.
Ian Kinseler had homered four times, Victor Martinez had bombed three times while Miguel Cabrera owns two home runs as well. With the Tigers having so much success against lefties and Danks in particular, they're in a good spot going into this one.
