Oklahoma will make a last ditch effort to win the Big 12 today as it faces conference newcomer TCU at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Forth Worth, Texas. Start time in today’s meeting between the Sooners and Horned Frogs is set for 12:00pm ET on ESPN. Oklahoma opened conference play with a 24-19 home loss to the Kansas State Wildcats, but it has not lost a league game since, driving its Big 12 record to 7-1 with several impressive wins.

The Sooners, who barely escaped Oklahoma State last weekend, are now in a position to take the Big 12 title from the Wildcats thanks to their impressive conference run. Oklahoma needs two things to happen in order for it to move in front of K-State, though.

First, the Sooners must take care of business against the Horned Frogs. Second, they need their arch rival, Texas, to upset the Wildcats in Manhattan later this evening. One of those things seems more likely than the other considering OU is a six point road favorite and the Longhorns are a 10.5 point road dog.

While the Sooners are expected to win this afternoon, their doing so could prove anything but easy. TCU has lost three straight games at home, but it will give everything it has to halt that skid today. The Horned Frogs, who were a dog in just one of those setbacks (Kansas State), turned the ball over 10 times in the three losses, indicating when they hang on to the ball they can hang with most any opponent.
