Big 12 rivals Iowa State and Oklahoma State will attempt to stay in the conference title chase when they meet his afternoon in Stillwater. Start time in today’s game is scheduled for 12:00pm ET at Boone Pickens Stadium (FX Network). Saturday college football odds are projecting a Cowboys victory with Oklahoma State presently listed as a -13.4 against the spread favorite. The Cyclones are a drawing +410 odds on the moneyline ($100 wins $410) and the game total is set at 60.5 points.
Both Oklahoma State and Iowa State last weekend, but at least the Cowboys were able to claim victory as they upended the lowly Kansas Jayhawks 20-14 in Lawrence (27 point favorite). The Cyclones were dealt their second loss of the season with a 27-21 home loss to No. 4 Kansas State.
Unfortunately for Iowa State, it will walk into a hornet’s nest today. The Cyclones ended Oklahoma State’s national championship bid last season with a triple overtime win over the Cowboys in Ames, and Mike Gundy, no doubt, has his squad ready to exact some revenge.
Also working against Iowa State is its own offense. The Cyclones are a limited team on that side of the ball, and that does not bode well for them against a Cowboys bunch that is still proficient at finding the end zone, particularly at home.
Oklahoma State is averaging 61.6 points per game at Boone Pickens Stadium, and while Iowa State’s defense has enough skill to slow down the Pokes, it will need some help from its offense to stay in the game. Without the benefit of the turnover, which Oklahoma State is not a prone to doing as a host, the Cyclones will have a hard time topping the 20 point mark today, and anything less than that will, in all probability, not be enough to cover the spread.
