The Georgia Bulldogs will face SEC rival Auburn tonight at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Alabama (7:00pm ET start time, ESPN2). Saturday College Football Georgia at Auburn Odds have Mark Richt’s squad listed as a -15 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 52 points. The Tigers are drawing +475 moneyline odds ($100 wins $475) to spoil the Bulldogs SEC East title hopes.
Georgia appears on the verge of securing its second straight SEC East title; the only thing left standing in its way is a downtrodden Auburn team with a lame duck head coach. Gene Chizek has not received the official boot yet, but everyone, including Chizek, knows its coming.
Perhaps a win tonight and a season finale victory against top ranked Alabama would save his job, but the odds of that happening are about a billion to one.
Auburn has not won a conference game all season, and its most recent SEC contest proved to be its worst as the Tigers got creamed 63-21 by Texas A&M at Jordan-Hard Stadium on October 27th.
The Tigers did pick up their second win of the season last weekend, but it took a horrid New Mexico State team to end their five game skid.
It is borderline ridiculous to think Auburn will rise up today, especially in light of how much the Bulldogs have at stake. Georgia, presently fifth in the BCS standings, could find itself in a BCS Bowl and, possibly (yes, it’s a long shot), in the BCS National Championship Game should everything break right for the team.
Free Pick: Take Georgia -15. The Bulldogs are 5-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last six games as a road favorite with a total between 51.5 and 54 points.
Georgia at Auburn College Football Odds:
Georgia Bulldogs -15 (-110), Over 52 (-110), -650 (Moneyline)
Auburn Tigers +15 (-110), Under 52 (-110), +475 (Moneyline)
