San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks MLB Odds, Start Time

The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to avoid being swept at home tonight as they host the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants at Chase Field in Phoenix. This evening’s series finale, which has a scheduled start time of 9:40pm ET, will pit Arizona’s Brandon McCarthy against two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum. The latest MLB Odds are favoring the hosting Diamondbacks at -115 on the moneyline; the Over/Under is set at nine runs. The Giants are getting +105 odds to complete the sweep.

San Francisco rolled into Arizona riding a five game losing streak, but it got things corrected in game one and two against their division rival. The Giants topped the Diamondbacks 6-4 on Monday and they assured themselves a series victory yesterday with a 2-1 win.

Thanks to those two wins San Francisco and Arizona are now locked in a second place tie in the NL West and both squads, at 15-12, are just a game back of division leader Colorado.

The Giants will attempt to sweep the series and get a leg up on the D-backs with Tim Lincecum toeing the rubber. Lincecum is off to a solid if unspectacular start to the season as he brings a 2-1 record and 3.64 ERA in tonight’s contest. The former Washington star, who is 7-8 with a 3.44 ERA in 21 career starts against Arizona, is coming off back to back quality starts, allowing just two earned runs and 10 hits over 13.2 innings in San Francisco splits with the Padres.

Arizona, which had won five of six coming into this series, will rely on the not so reliable Brandon McCarthy to get it a victory tonight. McCarthy is off to a dreadful start this season as his 7.48 ERA and 1.77 WHIP would indicate. The 6’ 7” right hander, who is 0-3 in five starts this year, has worked six innings in each of his last two outings, striking out nine while walking zero; however, he gave up 17 hits and 10 earned runs

Notable Trends: The Giants are 7-3 in their last 10 games as a road dog with a total between 8.5 and 9 runs (Over was 7-3 in those same 10 games).

San Francisco Giants -1.5 (+140), Over 9 (-110), +105 (Moneyline)

Arizona Diamondbacks +1.5 (-160), Under 9 (-110), -115 (Moneyline)
