Monday Night Football Odds
Pittsburgh -2.5
Total: 49.5 points
This is the first of two Monday Night Football games to kick off the season. The second features the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers about three hours after kickoff in this contest.
Pittsburgh still has Ben Roethlisberger and a stout defense. They won’t be playing without Le’Veon Bell but still figure to be OK at tailback behind that offensive line. Besides, they still have one of the game’s best in Antonio Brown out at receiver, last year he hauled in 136 passes and 10 touchdowns.
Last year the Redskins finally decided on Kirk Cousins as the starting quarterback. Washington finished 9-7 last season and made it to the playoffs, something they are looking to replicate this year.
Pittsburgh is only bringing four receivers to this game, the Redskin defense now has a great corner in Josh Norman, but Roethlisberger will look to utilize his tight ends and control the game.
Washington didn’t beat a single playoff team last season and Pittsburgh is better coached.
