Pittsburgh Penguins vs New York Rangers Game 4 Second Round NHL Playoffs Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: Tale of the Tape for 2012-13

The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers meet up tonight for Game 4 of their Second Round NHL Playoffs series. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Rangers favored to get another win here tonight.

Pittsburgh found a way to get home ice back to their advantage Monday night won they picked up a victory in Game 3, 2-0. The Rangers need to find a way to get a goal or two on the board. New York has been shut out in each of the last two games in this series despite getting 57 shots on goal against Marc-Andre Fleury. Previously the Rangers hadn't been shut out in consecutive playoff games since the 1937 Stanley Cup finals against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Penguins have looked good on the ice to this point in the post season. A victory here for the second straight games inside Madison Square Garden would be huge for them as Game 5 will be played back in Pittsburgh. But look for the Rangers to find a way to put some fight on the ice tonight.

Henrik Lundqvist is still one of the best goalies in hockey and even if he plays well, without the Rangers scoring it doesn't matter. He's looked very good in all three games but the Ranger are down in the series. Fleury has been flawless to this point in the past few games, making the job even harder for Lundqvist.

Sidney Crosby finally found the back of the net in Game 3, which makes the Penguins able to take their game to another level. When Crosby is scoring the Penguins are obviously dangerous. He didn't score until Pittsburgh's last game and the Penguins still found ways to win — making them just that much better than everybody else.

Brad Richards has three goals for the Rangers this post season and he has seven points as well. Martin St. Louis, who the Rangers picked up in a deadline deal earlier this season, has been scoring points as well for the Rangers, lifting his game this playoffs. But the Rangers need to find a way to gum this game up tonight, play physical and find a way to make Fleury uncomfortable. Rick Nash still hasn't scored this post season, either, so New York has to get him going.

In tonight's game, we like the Rangers to find a way to win an ugly game. If they let Pittsburgh skate all over the place, play finesse hockey and even get a few past Lundqvist, they'll be in trouble. New York wants to punch Pittsburgh in the mouth tonight and even this series.
