Pittsburgh Penguins vs New York Rangers Game 3 Second Round NHL Playoffs Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Game 1: Live Score and Highlights

The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers meet up tonight in Game 2 of their Second Round NHL Playoffs series. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Rangers favored at home.

Sidney Crosby still hasn't scored a goal in the playoffs, but the Penguins have reached the second round. The Penguins lost home ice advantage in this series against the Rangers and now will have to find a way to get a victory inside Madison Square Garden to take the advantage back. Pittsburgh picked up a 3-0 victory in the second game of this series, bouncing back from a 3-2 overtime loss to New York in the opening series.

The Rangers are playing their fifth game in just a week tonight, so fatigue might play a role in this one. The Rangers played back-to-back games against the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 6 and Game 7 last series and now have no day off between Games 2 and 3 here tonight. Just the way the NHL Playoff schedule works out, it appears.

Marc-Andre Fleury got his seventh career playoff shutout in the win over New York Sunday. Pittsburgh out-shot New York 35-22 in that game to even the series. New York has now fallen in 13 straight games when they had the lead in a playoff series. Henrik Lundqvist has played well this post season and he stopped 32 saves in Game 2 to help keep the Rangers in the contest, but without an offense producing some goals it wasn't enough.

The power play has not done well for New York this post season as they've failed to connect with a goal on their last 29 appearances. They were 0-for-4 on Sunday with the extra attacker on the ice.

Pittsburgh has been getting solid play from most of their players, but the Crosby thing is bothering fans. Crosby is regarded as one of the best players in the world but hasn't found a way to get a tally — yet the Penguins keep winning. Madison Square Garden isn't the place he feels comfortable, either. Crosby hasn't scored in his last nine games there but has assisted on 12 Penguins goals during that span. Evgeni Malkin has been playing well for the Pens and he has seven goals in his last 10 games at Madison Square Garden. Fleury has a 4.54 goals-against average in his last three road starts against the Rangers, who have won seven of nine at home in the postseason.

Tonight we like the Rangers to get a slim victory.

Free Pick: New York 3, Pittsburgh 2
