The New York Rangers travel to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight in Game 3 of their NHL Playoffs series in the opening round. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Rangers favored in this one at home, which will allow them to close out the series.

Both the Rangers and Canadiens can wrap up their first round series tonight on home ice, and both are expected to do so by oddsmakers. The Rangers are heavily favored in this matchup against the Penguins in Game 5, which should be pretty close — just like the opening four games of this series. New York has won all three of their games by 2-1 scores, the last one coming in overtime on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh. The Pens' lone win was a 4-3 victory at Madison Square Garden in Game 2.

Because of that win, the Penguins know they have the ability to pick up a win in this game tonight. A victory would allow them to continue their season and live for another game, which would be back in their own building in Pittsburgh. 

New York won the last two games despite not scoring a tally with the man-advantage.They did keep Pittsburgh from scoring a power play goal as well, which helped them earn the close wins. Pittsburgh had one of the best penalty kill units in hockey during the regular season, but so did the Rangers.

Pittsburgh needs its stars to show up tonight. Both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin need to have a big impact on the game, or the Penguins will more than likely be headed home until next season. While the Rangers pack a offensive punch, Pittsburgh will need to continue to keep this game a low-scoring one. New York has won three 2-1 games, now it's Pittsburgh's turn to pick up a grind it out game themselves.
