The Giants should be rested and ready to go in this one, coming off a bye and playing the first of three straight games at home.
The Eagles, on the other hand, last played on Sunday Night Football in an overtime loss to Dallas and now have to travel on a bit of a short week. Fatigue probably won’t be a problem for an NFL?team like the Eagles here, but it could play a role. Carson Wentz has looked strong for Philadelphia this rookie season, he’ll face a Giants secondary that looks to be getting healthy and should benefit from the bye week. Wentz has some history on his side for this one, the Eagles have won 13 of the last 15 meetings with the Giants and covered the number in 12 of this games.
But in order for the streak to continue Wentz and the Eagles are going to have to push the ball up the field a little better. Against Dallas the Eagles threw the football 43 times but only averaged less than five yards per attempt. The check downs will allow an offense to piece together drives but it can also minimize the big plays. Manning and the Giants will look strong coming off the bye and a rested up defense will make a difference.
