New York Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes has suffered a “setback”, and will be shut down for at least a few days by the club. No one seems able to explain the cause of Hughes’ lost of velocity on his fastball this season. Hughes won 18 games last season, but he has been rarely throwing over 90 mph this season.
Hughes recently said, "It's like if someone hits you in the thigh really hard, and after that it's just numb. It's the kind of feeling you usually get after throwing 110-115 pitches, and it's normal to feel that way. But this is way too soon. It's discouraging."
