The Oregon Ducks are hosting the USC Trojans in Pac 12 College Football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Ducks favored to pick up the victory in this one at home in what should be a close contest.
Oregon earned a big victory last week on the road at Stanford, now the Ducks find themselves back in the Top 25 after piecing together four straight victories in the conference. The last three contests have seen Oregon post an average of almost 48 points per game in wins over Arizona State, Cal and the Cardinal with two of those games coming on the road.
USC has not had the type of season it wanted, but they can still find their way into the Pac 12 title game. The Trojans have won four straight games as well, the last three have all been close against Cal, Arizona and Colorado. The big win over Utah was a confidence boost for this program, especially after back-to-back losses to Washington and Notre Dame in what were also close contests.
Oregon QB Vernon Adams appears to be healthy again, which should be a major impact. Both he and Darren Carrington are having big returns to the lineup and give the Ducks the explosive offense many have grown accustomed to seeing.
USC QB Cody Kesslar was a potential Heisman contender pre-season and he hasn't been horrible this year with his 2,700-plus yards and 23 scores. The Trojans have to run the football in this one to look to slow down Oregon's potential big-play offense at home and Ronald Jones has come up big in his time on the field, averaging better than seven yards per carry with six scores.
Between the two offenses, there should be some points in this one. While both teams are playing well, Oregon will once again have a home field advantage again in a big game.
