Oklahoma Sooners vs Villanova Wildcats NCAA Final Four Preview

The Oklahoma Sooners and Villanova Wildcats, a pair of two seeds, will play the opening game of the Final Four on Saturday. The game is being played inside NRG?Stadium in Houston, Texas and has a start time of 6:09 p.m., where it will be televised nationally on TBS. Currently the Final Four Odds for the game have the Wildcats listed as a small favorite to pick up the win.

Final Four Odds
Villanova -2
Oklahoma +2
Total: 144 (-110)

Oklahoma beat Villanova by 23 points back on December 7 in Pearl Harbor. Neither team is going to be taking anything from that contest though, the game was played four months ago.

Buddy Hield played like the best in the country for a good portion of the season. On Friday he was announced as the Oscar Robertson Trophy winner, given out by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Hield is an excellent player that is the heart and soul of an excellent team and the Sooners have proven that time and time again during the NCAA?Tournament, they looked tremendous against Oregon in the Elite Eight after crushing Texas A&M.

Villanova got over the annual early exit under Jay Wright. This year’s Wildcats have piled up 33 wins and have been arguably the best team in the entire tournament. Villanova walked through games against UNC-Asheville, Iowa and Miami before leading and holding on to beat Kansas in the Elite Eight.

Ryan Arcidiacono, Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins have provided a spark for the Wildcats, who also have a strong inside game with Daniel Ochefu.
Oklahoma’s starting five is very strong and this game could hinder on the defensive end with Jordan Woodard and Isaiah Cousins having to play well on the perimeter. Ryan Spangler is a very strong asset on the interior.

Villanova ranked inside the Top 10 nationally in both offensive and defensive efficiency numbers. Oklahoma is 13th in both. If the Wildcats make this a game of up and down play, Oklahoma should have no issues playing at that pace.
