NBA All-Star Weekend officially gets underway tomorrow night with the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge; however, most fans will be looking toward the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, which includes the annual Three-Point Contest. This year's sharp shooting field features Stephen Curry, Arron Afflalo, Kyrie Irving, Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, Kevin Love, Marco Belinelli, and Joe Johnson. The latest odds to win the 2014 NBA Three Point Contest from Sportsbook.ag are favoring the Warriors' Curry to take home this year's trophy. Curry, who is hitting 41.5 percent from beyond the arc this season, is drawing a +225 NBA betting odds price ($100 wins $225).
Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo is next on the bookmaker's list at +500 odds and last year's champion, the Cavaliers Kyrie Irving, is third with a +525 listing.
This year's competition should prove most interesting given the addition of the "all money ball" rack.
The format will largely be the same as in year's past with five shooting stations positioned around the three point line. Four of the stations will contain four regulation orange balls, which are each worth one point each, and one multi-colored money ball, which is worth two points. However, the fifth and final station will contain five two point money balls and each competitor will have the option of moving the station to any one of the five designated shooting locations.
The State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 16th. Coverage of the event will be provided by TNT starting at 8:00pm ET.
