No. 15 Kansas State will look to sweep its non-conference slate tonight when it welcomes the Mean Green of North Texas to Bill Synder Family Stadium in Manhattan (7:00pm ET start time). North Texas vs Kansas State Odds have the hosting Wildcats listed as a -28 against the spread favorite. The game total in this evening Big 12 versus Sun Belt clash is set at 55 points.
Kansas State went into last week’s meeting with the Miami Hurricanes as a seven point home favorite, but it proved that line, perhaps, the most suspect of the weekend. The Wildcats drilled the ‘Canes 52-13 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.
K-State, which held the ball nearly 38 minutes in the win, tallied 27 first downs, converted 8-of-11 on third down, and rushed for 288 yards against Miami’s defense.
Knowing Bill Synder, the Wildcats will not deviate from that formula much tonight, despite a change in opposition. Yes, the Mean Green, who are 1-1 after losing 41-14 at LSU and defeating Texas Southern 34-7, can expect a healthy dose of quarterback Collin Klein and running back John Hubert on the ground coupled with the occasional over the top play action pass.
There may not be a more predictable team in the FBS than Kansas State, in that everyone knows what the Wildcats approach on offense. However, trying to slow down a team that executes its game plan to near perfection is difficult, even if it one knows what is coming.
Anyway, the Mean Green will be able to explain it better after tonight.
Free Pick: Lean to Kansas State at -28.
